Way to set the bar Ted!
Did a bit of predawn photography today...
First up, my Metro North M4 cab unit.
Naturally, Norma Bates Kitteh HAD to get into the act...
Experimenting with various camera settings and a tripod.
"Dispatcher, you AIN'T gonna believe THIS one!"
A couple of shots of my prewar/postwar interurban.

Thanks, Brian. Here's a going-away shot of the same train. Hope to go back with sticks and a longer lens in a more serious effort - this is a big crop. David

looks GREAT ! keep on posting your photos, awesome shots....
Thanks to OGRR Forum member Scale Rail, I got replacement trucks for a couple of my Industrial Rail trolleys, and have one up and running!
While fooling about with the trolley, I swapped out the factory yellow LED headlights with some white ones scrounged from Christmas tree lights, and got some nifty effects in the dark!

I miss developing real film when I see speed effects like that.

Well, as you can see, it IS possible to do it with a digital camera as well!

But it isn't wet and smelly in red light

Okay. Next time you plug your digital camera in, put a red bulb in your desk lamp and take a great big whiff of, and splash around in, a dish of uncut vinegar. That should bring the ol' memories flooding back!

Thanks again, Don! I think I'll do an "Under The Hood" howto when I swap out the other truck. Gotta track down some more christmas LED lights so I can get more white LEDs for the headlights... ;-)

Thanks, Lee. Here's one from earlier this month. A little more light (still not much - ISO 4000, 1/50th at f/2), a longer lens. Flashing green signal (the left of the four) beyond the water, for this train.
