Allen Dayton (HHW owner), Sandy Shelton and Josh Ingersoll recently traveled to York, PA for the spring Eastern Division TCA meet.

Here are some notes from the show:

HHW ate dinner with the new management team for Lionel and were very impressed.

All offices will consolidate to Charlotte, NC within the year.

New team is extremely dedicated and hard working.

American Flyer rolling stock pricing will be going down.

New line of Christmas decorations was shown at the TCA museum.

MAP pricing will be in effect for the fourth quarter.



The 100th Anniversary Grand Central Terminal (6- 37195) looks beautiful and will be allocated.

THERE WILL BE NO VOLUME 2 CATALOG THIS FALL.

Christmas Catalog will follow in June.

1) NC is a "Right to Work" state. Mich. is NOT.

 

2) Lower corporate income tax?

 

3) Lower cost of living for the employees?

 

4) They already have an office complex there.

 

5) MUCH better weather!

One of the big reasons Lionel is moving is spelled T-A-X-E-S. New York's taxes are stupid expensive. The pols just never seem to get it, raise taxes to larcenous levels = businesses leaving for friendlier tax environs. Margaret Thatcher hit the nail on the head when she said what happens when they run out of rich people to tax.
