So I have this Flyer loco.
Not sure of the name or is. I really like it because it consistently works without special attention, and the curly Q coupler on the tender lets me pull nearly anything behind it. The issue is that one of the guide wheels is chipped.
It looks like the wheels are riveted on the axle, and the axle is held onto the truck with heavy rivets as well. Anyone have suggestions for repair or replacement of this wheel?
Honestly since it's a guide wheel, and basically on the flange portion, my first thought is to clean out the fractured area and fill it with J B Weld, and file it back to shape when dry. Does this sound crazy?
