An Amtrak train fatally struck a person near MARC's Bowie State station Tuesday morning.
The victim was found about a half mile from the station, Prince George's County fire officials say. The victim was an Amtrak engineering employee, Amtrak said in a statement.
The employee, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"We are working closely with the FRA and NTSB to thoroughly investigate the details of this incident," Amtrak's statement said.
