This year instead of at Washington's Union Station because of earthquake damage to the station roof and ongoing repairs Amtrak will be having it's 5th National Train Day at New York City's (Metro-North's) Grand Central Terminal on Saturday, May 12th.
This is in addition to the usual locations in Philadelphia, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
For those who plan to come to this event in New York City and if the weather is favorable you can also take in the High Line walk
on the former New York Central West Side Freight Line that now is a one mile walk from 30th St. South to around 8th St.
