From a new HO company with a plant in China: Scale Trains
Probably should have posted it on "HONGZ," but earlier there was talk about seeing the Chinese manufacturing process.

Saw this site earlier. Their fidelity to prototype detail is scary. I could just imagine what they'd do with O scale.
That was interesting.
And, an expansion in our hobby is always a good thing.
I posted this because it illustrates some of the process involved for making model trains, not so much for what was being made. Until Lionel or MTH come up with similar video's, it's a peek behind the curtain.
If I were chomping at the bit for the ultimate model of #18, I'd be ordering one, but I'm not. I have no interest in buying a UP Big Blow in any scale. But, I find the process of manufacturing one fascinating.
Besides, there's some folks here that seem to think model trains are made with anything from slave labor to magic wands.

I'd say it is a big deal. Lots of great work going on here. Don't like it, don't buy it.
Well done. thanks don
Instead of being just another importer they should have setup shop here in the USA.
Aristo-Craft put out a DVD titled How Model Trains Are Made probably 10 years ago. Shows the inner workings of Sanda Kan.
Thanks for posting
Yup, probably should have gone to the HONGZ forum in order to be posted in the "correct" forum, but doubtful it would seen by as many forumites.
Anyway, I saw that video a while back. Interesting indeed. Though I have no interest in a UP turbine, it will definitely be worth watching this company to see what else is coming down their HO line that I COULD be interested in purchasing.

Would seem a good way to disadvantage one's upstart new business, IMHO.
