There might be a grain of truth in that, or perhaps the engineer was being hen-pecked at the time?

But,,,,,,what if the Engineer involved was Female?

Rich, I don't know exactly where in Ohio this happened but I've been to Boardman, Ohio many times as conductor with  NS.  I don't know what the deal was but we would be stranded in Boardman for days at a time before they would bring us home.

To be sung to "GREEN ACRES".  Motel 6 is the place to be

Motel livin' is the life for me

Question...how did they get those cars to be so neatly arranged perpendicular to the tracks?

Delaware County, OH = Just north of Columbus.

Gentlemen,

You can see the big NS Black & White Engines right here in the Pitcarin, Pa yard, sometimes the CSX engine will be right in the same Yard with them.  Don't know about Ohio but Pa has them both from time to time.  My understanding is that our Pitcarin Yard is now one of the largest in the world again, with it's own maintance outfit, and we still have the Union Railroad here also.

Sure glad nobody got hurt, my nephue is an Engineer in this area, every time I see one of these pile ups I hold my breath.

They must of done a lot of work to Picairn since I was last there. It had 2 intermodel loading tracks and a runner with I think 5 short stub end support tracks. The arrangement allowed one train to work at a time. The whole design was a near waste of real estate. There was plenty of space to expand on if that was done in the last several years.

I believe the op was just reporting the news.

And HW was just "reporting" his opinion. "So what" is certainly not "uncalled for." Can we once have a discussion where someone doesn't take offense at the most innocuous of remarks?

Dang, we've become a weak society.

Meh...   Local wild life will be fat and happy for a couple of days.   At least it wasn't acid or oil; then the enviro's would be kvetching up a storm.   Fortunately no one was hurt - thats what really matters.   NS will be out a few bucks;  one of those occupational hazards I suppose.

I'm waiting for a train full of MONEY to derail just like that close to my house;  so far no luck...
