Hi Bob,

Thanks for the reply. Did the Mopac GP35's have dynamic brakes?

Swafford,

Super O is right. There are no dynamic brakes on the Mopac. This is the way they were. I saw somewhere on this site a few weeks ago that somebody said the T&P had dynamic brakes -that is not correct. Both Mopac & T&P Gp35's did not have Dynamic brakes. Most all T&P units prior to GP-35's did. Mine (#607) looks the same as my Atlas GP-35's and would have ordered more if they had done different numbers. Atlas already did 603 & 611. T&P units were 600-614.

The only thing I wished they had was Texas & Pacific Buzzsaws on the cab. They were delivered with T&P buzzsaws and at some time they were changed. Both Atlas and Lionel did Mopac buzzsaws.

Have not run it yet, but have had it about 3 weeks from Charlie.

Not hiding from you Sal.  I just ordered mine when the Fall catalog ordering window was open.  It was just a local a shop in Detroit but I know the production numbers were very very low for this batch of the GP35's.  Best to just call around to the big dealers.

I also got the ATSF GP35's to lash with my previous legacy GP30's.  The colors are very close to same and they painted the GP35 better than the GP30 yellow bonnets.

I plan to lash all 4 ATSF geeps together and post a video soon...

I would try and snag some MOPAC's cause they are very nice...  However maybe we can get another run and some T&P logo ones next time!

I have to apologize, as I believe I stated earlier that the T&P GP35s had dynamic brakes. As Blue Streak states, they nor the MP GP 35s did not have them.

Here is a colorized photo of the T&P GP35's with T&P buzzsaw on the cab. This along with maybe 9 other long postcard style photos were given out by the Missouri Pacific public relations department in the 1970'stp600_builderscard[1]

The Chicago & Eastern Illinois GP35's did have dynamic brake which were painted in the Mopac Screaming Eagle scheme when they picked them up thru merger.

I have the Atlas model and have not seen the Lionel version.
