Well, it's now the NS trip, not the NS steam trip.  The 630 is not going to be roadworthy in time, so we will have the NS Southern Railway diesel.  Although it's disappointing to go without steam, it'll be an interesting trip anyway, up the Rat Hole.  Personally, I have never ridden any southeastern roads and am really looking forward to seeing the territory.  We have tickets in a Budd boat-tail observation car (ex-C of G? Seaboard? FEC? NYC?) and it will be a treat to ride in one again.  My last ride in one was in 1960.

Anyway, I will be supporting the home road in a Santa Fe ball cap, so, if you see a guy that looks like a retired Road Foreman, that'll be me. and I'd like to howdy and shake with you.

Tom, I wish I could be there to shake your hand and say hello...one old Road Foreman to another.

You're going to see some of the biggest cuts you've ever seen on the Rat Hole Division. If you want to get a look at the line beforehand, THIS VIDEO which I shot many years ago, would fill the bill.

This is the cover of the DVD...
