Hi everyone,

I searched on "stock photos" and "stock images" and got no hits, so here goes...

Is it permissible to use stock images from a website to illustrate something, for example a new item I've purchased, or must they be all my own?  I just purchased a Woodland Scenics H&H Feed Store and I'd like to post under the "Buy Anything Cool Lately?" thread but I don't have the structure yet so the only images I can post at this time are from the mfr. website.  Of course I don't want to infringe on anyone's copyright, but I believe there's Fair Use.

Thanks for any guidance, and sorry if I didn't search deep enough.

"You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or you have specific permission from the copyright holder to do so." OGR TOS.

I personally do try to follow this rule.

That being said, a manufacturer "should" be ok with you posting a stock image of their product on the forum. After all, it's free advertising.
