If you had backed the train up first and then used the slack for assist, the one engine might have been successful.
sad you have rubber tires to do that
Very cool Gary. Just like the real deal.

Totally awesome! Very impressed with the Class A.
Question: When the Class A was backing down to couple to the train, it appeared that a 'lobster claw' (tender) was about to shake hands with a Kadee (lead hopper). May we assume that unusual hand shake was 72-car proof that it works well??!!!...REALLY well???...to the chagrin of naysayers??...like me???
If so, Holy Cannelloni! Talk about an epiphany!!

Kadee's work well with all lobster claws except MTH. I've thought about converting all my steamers to Kadee but I like remote uncoupling to much to let it go. Disclaimer, my son forgot to add, even with the Class A we had to reduce the train to sixty cars. Just to much slipping. Those Berks have EOB drop in boards and after they were really hot.
When Bruk gets done with my challenger conversion to Legacy I'll do a lashup video with the Class A and have every freight car I own behind both of them.

You might want to try a little test with just the two engines. First run them together but not coupled and note current draw. Then couple them up and check current draw.
If not perfectly synced they will draw more power when coupled because they fight each other. Turning off cruise can help here.

Great video! That's a heck of a train haha
Gary, did that traction tire just slip off or was it torn up on the lead Berk? Great video BTW.
Outstanding video!!
