A few years ago Aristo-Craft came out with  Train Engineer Revolution. A remote control system for G Scale. The then announced the would be coming out with the same system for other scales including O Scale. I spoke with the Arista people at a train show and they assured me it would be available soon, That was over 2 years ago. Does anybody know anything regarding this system?

Nate what would you like to know.  The Revo system is fantastic I use it with battery power in all of my "G" gauge locomotives and I plan on using it in my "O" scale stuff as well.  Once you buy the initial kit that includes the hand held controller, receiver, smoke generator, and linking switch then you're set, after that you only need to buy additional receivers for your locomotives.  The current receiver will fit in most "O" scale locomotives, but I can't tell you when the smaller units will be available.  They also have a receiver that will control your switches which I will be using on my "O" scale layout which is still in the design faze.

Right now Aristo-Craft is waiting for the new receivers with sound before anything else is released or instock. You can now buy any of Aristo-Craft products direct from them on their web site at a 40% discount which use to be my dealer discount but I guess I'm out of the loop now.

Hope this helps Nate.

Chuck,

Thanks for the  information. Here is the next part of my dilema. I need to have the smallest reciever because I am in O Scale Rapid  Transit. I model the New  York  Subway. My cars are motor and trailer. Some trains are made up of all motor cars. I use Q Car motors which ar small, use very low amps and they are mounted  inside the trucks. The cars  have full interiors and are lighted. The folks at arista Craft  told me that I would be able to have all the motor cars  in a train programed to run together so I am waiting for the smallest reciever, preferrably N Scale. This is my issue. I am waiting patiently. Now that you have told me how happy you are with the system it makes the system more desirable. Thanks you again for the response.

Dear CNRR, or anyone who can help.  I was also considering using revolution in my 2 rail DC locos.  I have a thousand questions but first I was wondering what kind of low speed control you get with it.  For example, I am using one of the Crest wireless transmitters now with conventional cab control.  If you are familiar with the Crest system, you know they have a "PWC"  setting (pulse width control)  This helps with slow speed operation.  I have another DC throttle from Power Systems Control (not sure if Mr Abbot is still making these).  That uses pulse power and actually gives better slow speed control than the aristo Craft PWC.  I would hate to go with revolution only to find that low speed control isn't that great.  I went to arito craft site and they do not have much to look at for information.  I wonder how big the present receiver is?  I did see that the present equipment is steeply discounted...just no information about size, max output etc
