Due to Amazons lax return acceptance, the crooks are out in force these days, and only encouraged.  Reports of ppl buying things, and returning old equipment (like keeping a new computer, and returning an old one for a full refund), or even returning a box with a brick in it...are not uncommon anymore.

Its just terrible.   DOnt buy anything "open box" that is fulfilled by Amazon.  They dont check whats in the boxes and you could get anything.   Stories abound.

Now its spilled over on to ebay.

Fedex, btw, is now going to take pictures of deliveries in ppls doorsteps.  Apparently the # of ppl who take items, and then claim they were not delivered, has gone thru the roof.  Also the problem with ppl stealing pkgs off ppls doorsteps.   I now send anything that over 300 in value..signature required. Anyone who says that theft and fraud shoud be an acceptable part of doing business, has never owned a small business.

Excuse my soapbox.  I work too hard to have to deal with ppl who feel they are entitled to a part of my business for free.  Im just sayin

During the 2020 Christmas season I had issues with shippers dropping off packages at the wrong apartment, and one just disappeared into the ether, never showed up. I ended up just having everything shipped via UPS and had UPS automatically redirect to a local access point where I would have 7 days to pick up.  If I had several orders, I could let them accumulate and then pick them all up at once. Saved me from stressing over if my package would get to my door or not.

Living in Montana, it's a long way to York.  Therefore, eBay is virtually my only source for older out-of-print items I missed over the years.  My experience with the outfit improved once I identified quality vendors and I stick with them.  I have had nothing but good experiences with the few purchases I've made through the Forum.  My most recent Forum purchase of a UP CNW "Heritage" SD70ACe was especially good, a pristine locomotive at a very reasonable price.  The Forum is my "go to" for all things O Gauge!

Over the past few years, folks like Beth, Steve Nelson and Tim at Berwyn Hobby have had special runs produced that I never imagined would be made and I appreciate them, one and all.  God bless 'em!

FedEx is terrible, UPS and USPS are far better.  Kudos to them!
