To connect yourT IU to both a TMCC Command Base and the WIU, you'll need a USB to serial cable and a serial splitter, with one male connector and 2 female connectors.

Thanks I did review the book, also i bought a 232 pin cable but now i have to buy a 232 y adaptor so I can also add my tmcc cable. along with female pugs for the 232 cables. Have an updated TIU 5, unfortunately I can not update it to 6, I believe you need a windows commuter, I have Macs. Is this true?

There ain't many if any train stores around who will upgrade TIU,s. Do the new TIU's come with version 6?

that's not true you can update with a windows or apple computer either one will work, long as you have the correct cables .and you follow the procedure for using the loader consumer program from the mth web sight version 5. is needed to update to 6.1 tiu and remote!

Alan,

That's only partially correct.

You can use a Mac, however, you need to create a Windows environment on your Mac. How ro do so is described in detail in The DCS Companion 2nd EditionPart XII - DCS Upgrading and Remote Backup/Restore, 5. Upgrading DCS Component Software, Upgrading the Software in the DCS Remote and TIU, Using a Windows Environment on a Mac, on pages 155-158.
