The popular Saturday night rally's will be starting up soon, given the warm temps back east!  New participants are expected to display their cars this year.  It's a great venue because the local mayor gives the "Show 'Em Off" car club a special permit to close off the road 'til midnight...the local establishments sure enjoy the spike in business for sure...

The North Main Street area all cleaned up after the Saturday night rally...a busy post rally Sunday afternoon..

Well, that's *one* alternative to spending time on elaborate landscaping -- just park your model vehicle collection all over the top of the layout! I like it!

I agree Steve...there's not much scenery production in the asphalt jungle on North Main Street  I'm in the process of landscaping my latest addition to the layout with lots of green grass, mountains, a lake...but still have plenty of cars and figures there too...lol...!

The "Benz" dealer took the front row spot on this night last summer...the passengers on the "Chief" had a clear view of the new car models for '58 being show cased at the South Main Street rally...

Not a car and not a truck, but I think none-the-less cool is this rock drill I picked up for the pending reconstruction of one of my quarries. The premier granite quarry of North America is Rock of Ages in Barre, VT. and served by Vermont Railways. I have the rocks (the easy part) and the beat up gondolas. Now, just need time!  

What a great idea to model the VT quarry and RR.  The rock drill looks like a really well crafted model.

Tom, Yes, the drill is pretty nice, except the air hoses won't stay on. I tucked them away until such time as it gets in position. I had to battle a little to get it on the Bay, but I deemed it a "must-have".

Business is brisk at the local "Chevy" dealer...full of 1/43 inventory...

There's some brisk activity at the North Main Street station as passengers arrive in their 1/43 scale fancy cars, on this early Saturday morning...passengers wait for the "Chief" to pull in...convertible season has come early this year...

Paul, The cars look great and I love that Bar Mills (?) luggage cart. Perfect detailing.

Good tip CALNNC.  I do see those Caddie's on those racks in the dollar stores, drug stores and DIY warehouse stores quite often.

Between the arrival of the "Chief" at the North Main Street station and the bustling Greyhound terminal across the street, the hot dog vendor goes through some serious rolls and dogs as the passerby's grab a quick snack before boarding...

Early Saturday morning fill-ups for a busy weekend...

The "Boss" was in early on this warm spring morning last week, pulling up in his '57 Olds Super 88 gold convertible...his admin assistant greets him in the parking lot, while the landscapers are busy getting the place ready for business visitors later in the day.  The employees nicknamed the Boss "Mr. Goldfinger" because of the color of his car and his desire to keep a low-profile in town...lol

A little quiet on North Main tonight...

Received my back order from Diecast. Still waiting on another Buick, 1949.  This is a Goldvarg, 48 Buick Roadmaster', limited edition #62 of 220.  And the car I took my drivers test with, 1969 , My Dad's 58 Ford Fairlane with the Thunderbird engine. This is a NEO model.  Very accurate replica...

Thanks Paul, still waiting on another unit.  (BTW)  do you ever go to Healy News?  They carry many model train magazines'.....  If you go there, ask for Sally, the owner, she is a friend of mine and a very nice person.. She will order any special magazine you want'...

The first GM  "Rally Night" of the season was held last night at Morrison Door after hours...two Vettes showed up for the season's kick-off.  The pizza guy heard that "Mike" was asking for him, and he expanded his offering this year to a "Vegetarian" pizza for those diet conscious car-buffs.

None of the GM participants would admit to inviting the "Chrysler" guy and his wife. Of course, the senior couple were welcomed by all.  On a side note, there was talk last night of moving the future rally's to "Bob's General Store" on the other side of town because the lot was bigger and the owner serves a variety of cold ones (a hit on warm summer nights).  Last night's rally could be the last one at Morrison's...  stay tuned...
