Good day I was wondering if I could use this power supply for the aux power supply on my TIU ?

The voltage and maxamp ratings are satisfactory. Only issue I see is whether the jack fits the TIU.
Jack,
Yes, you may with 2 caveats:
- It has only a 1.2 amp capacity. I wouldn't use it if the TIU had more than 1 or 2 AIUs attached.
- It would need to have a matching connector for the TIU's Aux. Power port.
It would only powering one TIU for now I do believe the plug is compatible
How many amp should it have if you want to add a AIU or 2
The issue isn't so much the number of AIUs, as the number of accessories that will be in the "on" mode at any given time, Reason is that when on, the AIU relays consume power. Switch relays drop out in a second or so, so they aren't really an issue.
Barry or RJR, would Jack have to change the polarity of the barrel jack on that DC power supply? Isn't the center pin connected to the ground side of the TIU Fixed 1? If it's not a issue, could it become an issue if DC was used on Fixed 1 with the AUX pin being positive, like if a person was running MTH HO's or using DC to load sound files?
Dave,
As long as the power supply for Aux. Power isn't also being used as input to a TIU channel, its polarity, whether AC or DC, doesn't matter.
However, as I recall, there is an issue if the power supply for the Aux. Power port is AC and the power to Fixed #1 Input is DC. The symptom is that the engine on Fixed #1 will not see a DCS watchdog signal.
Regardless, it's always a best practice to use a completely separate power source to power the TIU through its Aux. Power port.
