Best way to fasten QB?

I have used quiet brace for many years on my layouts. So...this may seem contrary to what one would normally think. I do not glue or screw it in place. Because of the black petroleum based coating with the weight of the layout, it will almost self stick to the plywood. There are places that I have used screws but it was only at joints where I wanted to adjust adjoining pieces so that they are level with one another. One reason why I don't like using too many screws is because of the transfer of vibrations and noise.

Thanks, I was thinking along those lines. I have viewed your awlsome layout previously, I didn's see your email address, I had hoped to meet you at Indy but was unable to attend. If you welcome 2-railers email me at orite@hughes.net. I'm not as close to you as I was in Mammoth Spring, still hope to get that way sometime. I have only been into this since 2009,life keep me into other things.

My older (retired) sis and her husband have lived in Mulberry for decades! My late Mom lived there the last years of her life! I'm in Mulberry every month or so to visit my sister.

I too am a QuietBrace user, and it is what I have on my present layout (link below).

As Alan said, it really doesn't require fastening. However, if the QB pieces are small, I found it convenient to fasten them down with two 1" nails at opposite corners or sides to keep them from shifting during track installation, etc.

How are you cutting it, BTW? I used a box cutter knife for the straight cuts, and a knife-edge blade on my scroll saw for curves and for angled-edge cuts to resemble roadbed.

Thanks for the invite! If a meet is closer and I have the disposable time, I would like to attempt a visit.

Right now, I'm working 6 days a week and will be for a while. Typically, the wife and I have a hard time fitting in vacation time. (Compounded by the fact that scheduling time off at the railroad I work for is tough, too.) Getting her to another model railroad meet might be a hard sell!!!

HOWEVER...

Retirement is getting closer...

Alex, As you know by now I have joined. I have been cutting the QB with a box knife, did some with a saber saw, but messy, will pick up a knife blade next time in town.

As much as I want to visit your layout, I can't make St.Charles, will plan on Springfield. Do you all have dates yet.

Hope you don't mind, but I am copying part of your layout, not too good at the planning. I'm more of a design as you go, have laid out a basic RR track plan and still making changes. A little sorry I settled for 2 rail as reverse loops are easier in 3 rail. We all have to live with limitations.
