Seems BNSF is cleaning house. Many engines dead in yard along SH275 Harborside between 51st and 27th. Some seemed to be renumbered and some have GN below the number on the cab.

T****orders. Some are going back to the leasers to be leased to KCS.
My source: Driving along SH275 last Friday and Saturday.
It’s also been mentioned multiple times in issues of Railfan & Railroad magazine.

It seems most of the gen set switcher fleet is there. Seems the Port Terminal Railway serving the Houston Ship Channel is using them.
But why Galveston? Heat, humidity, and salt air not good for them.
The cynic in me wonders -

For what it's worth, all those units in Galveston are for disposal, i.e. they are NOT "in storage". Any and all units in storage on BNSF are kept in nice dry climates. All that junk in Galveston is "for sale".
