Also, here are some ugly ducklings, both attempts at a wood boxcar from who knows when. I added Lionel trucks and they run pretty good.

It is mid-morning in early 1949 and a VO-1000 is doing shifter work on the east end of the yard. The boxcar is in the new Merchandise Service Phase 1 paint scheme.
The boxcar is an MTH PS-1 50' car trying to look like a Pennsy X-41b. While not correct, it is a nice looking car. The VO is RK.

Love the Christmas tree unloading boxcar scene, Patrick. It's so perfect for this time of year. The evergreen trees you used are the perfect size, great proportion, so visually correct! Who's the manufacturer/supplier of them? Do you have a part or order number for the trees? What's their size, where did you get them?

Excellent photos Patrick. Thanks for sharing! I remember as a young boy this was the way that many of the trees arrived in Newark, NJ and made their way to all the temporary corner lots. Those lots, that were an eyesore for11 months of the year, became transformed to a magic holiday land. At least that is the way it seemed to a 7-year-old who went with his Dad to find that "perfect tree". Thanks for the memory!
I'd Like to see a better view of that billboard.

A NYC outside braced boxcar is being spotted for the morning local. It is headed to The Hatter hat factory where it will pick up a load of fedoras, homburgs and a few trilbies for the New York market.
This is an AtlasO car.
