I need some assistance.  I have a metal partial kit.  I have two sides and roof panels.  I need to find different car ends and doors to complete it.  I have checked the usual suspects, Scale City, P&D, and Des Plaines.  I would usually check at Strausburg show because one of the vendors there has some such things.  Can anyone help with his name or other online places to go?

Thanks,

Any idea which kit manufacturer?  Pictures might help....

I probably have ends and underbody framing for Athearn cars; not sure about doors.

It's not Athearn, I'll pull the instructions out and try to find a maker.  The instructions are very crude.

I have plans for other cars.  It appears it is a 50' Pennsy round roof auto car.  I want to build the car as is, but take the sides and copy them to styrene and then make K-11 or K-9 stock cars.

Do you know the vendor at Strausburg that was along the side with the windows, he had a lot of doors and I think ends?  Always has the packs of Kadees on sale.  I think his name might be George something, but I'm usually wrong at that kind of stuff.

John, thank you, I may be able to use them.  Email me how much you want for them.

I found the instructions.  I was wrong it is a 40' round roof car.  The instructions says it was from Model Railroad Shop in Dunnellen, New Jersey.  It was dated Aug. 1939.  It even has instructions to use Lionel Pre-War trucks.

I got these in a box of parts at York.

This is the side

Here is a corner shot of the instructions.  The end is a Dread-naught end.

As I was looking for the side I found this from the same box.  AAR boxcar sides.  So I'm thinking if I find some parts I'm going to be busy.

Thanks for any and all help.

the vendor you refer to is George Peckman. George is up in years and I'm not sure he'll be at Strasburg in October.

Not seen George with tables there for over a year; but I think I did see him on site for one show.  Sadly, several regulars there have faded away.....

he also sells on e*ay as 'gptco'

I've bought from him off eBay; usually has several interesting bits listed.
