Stefan, WOW love your collection pf CN. I beed to also post a few of mine also.
To see what I've been up to, you can fallow my thread about the new power drive for the european Traxx engine.
Regards,
Stefan, Yes the switchers are MTH in both CN and GTW. u SAW YOUR THREAD ON THE NEW DRIVE AND ITR LOOKS VERY COOL. hAVE A GREAt day.
The local CN Railway had a employees family open house this past weekend. Great event for the kids. Local displays by the Police, Safety and emergency services, CN vehicles and trains of course. They use the Rocky Mountaineer engine and 3 passenger cars for a ride a few miles through the rail yard. Bouncy castle for the kids, a little ride on rubber tired train, and bigger CN rubber tire train photos to come. Truck on rail rides, walk through of locomotives. Our local O Gauge club brought along a layout, as did the G scale club and I brought along some O trains to run on the floor of the Loco shops.
Will post some pics over the next few days when time. Click on photos for a larger view.
CN Crane with old Maple Leaf CN logo seen in yard on train ride,
My layout on floor, CN Freight, passenger, 2 loops of Circus trains and a set of old Lionel CN Geeps with CN Rotary snow plow on one end and push plow on other.
Elevated CN locos and passenger train is on O club layout.
Ride on CN train for kids with real looking interior cab.
Photo inside a locomotive 2 stroke 16 cyclinder engine, they had it so an air ram would turn it on cog at a time and you could see the valves moving and bottom of pistons/crank move in an engine that had just been rebuilt.

Popsrr, I'm just curious, how do you like the MTH drives in your models? And what do you think about quality drives like I made for the Traxx engine. I'm guessing you have numerous MTH models in your collection?
Here are a few pics of my non CNR collection. I have two brass Alco S-1 switcher which I haven't decided what road to paint them. As far as I know, the CNR never had S-1 switchers, but S-2ff. switchers. Do you know if the GTW had any?
kj356, nice pictures! Intersting story as well!

KJ, Great set of CN pictures. Love seeing the old Crane AND THE OLD MAPLE LEAF LOGO. The club layout and trains were very cool. The rides for the kids are also really nice. They wemt all out for the kids. Is that set up at a CN location also?
I think they must do this for the kids each year since I do recall seeing the large size Caboose and Engine before.
I mentioned that I also remember your family fixing you that WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY, with all the TRAIN SHAPES OF FOOD. That had to be very SPECIAL.
Our CN/GTW facility is only a small size now of what it once was. Even the refueling has moved on but all the equipment sits there unused today. We do still have a small shop and a small yard left and do get a lot of traffic through the yard. Most of the traffic is auto related, coal unit trains from BNSF, and grain and chemical cars. We do see a lot of intermodal traffic passing through.
Thanks again for posting all of your nice pictures.
Stefan, beem out of town and just getting caught ip today.
I do have all MTH Engines. The so far I have not had issues with the drive but anything you do to improve it will be a good thing with all the long trains people like to pull. Also would think the stronger the drive train is the better chance of delivering bettert power on the inclines. Keep us posted to data that you collect on comparison between the MTH and your drive.
I don't know the answer to your question about the GTW switcher but Rich Trowbridge has posted really cool pictures of a GTW done in Green and Gold that I will post below for you.

This SW1200 looks great! I just love these Atlas switchers, also the drive is much better then many other engines. I have two of them too, both are Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo Ry. and I have the black CNR on order. I also see you got the Weaver GTW U-4b steam engine. I have the CNR U-4a #6400 gold/olive from the same release. Very good runner. As usual, a few more pics from my collection...

Stefan, GREAT set of Engines. You have a WONDERFUL COLLECTION. I like your CP also. I have a lot more Diesels than steam. I think I have another 4 MTH Mountain Engine in the CN Green and Gold and I think they are also #6400 and maybe 6464, can't remember for sure. I really like the style of tender that they used on those engines.
The Budd/Thrall Car Lo-Pac 2000 Ribbed, Articulated, Intermodal Well Cars formerly made as a K-Line item resemble the CN Intermodal cars in the CN 640 000 series. Now that Bachmann can make all the K-Line items, they have to finally make the CN Ribbed, Articulated Well Cars in the CN 640 000 -640 999 series. They are painted blue and have 5-units per car.
Andrew
Andrew, I hope you also posted this over on the intermodek thread so that if we ever get any MFG's to look at it they will see your type of wants also. Thanks.
