Hey Popps- I thought you might be interested in some photos of the start of this CN train idling in Lake Villa. Some interesting units in front of a container train. My new office is further south right next to this same line and I saw a nice red white & blue GT on the line- looked like a GP7 to me, but I'm a little shaky with my diesel spotting, saw it a couple days ago with a short train, maybe switching in the area.

Will GRAT Pictures. Looks like and old IC F-7 and some beautiful IC passenger cars. Strange that they were hooked up to the Stack train.Maybe they are moving the passenger cars to another location and just using the Stack train to do it.Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Popps- I googled Illinois Central #101 and it came up as an E9A- in service on a business train. The engine and passenger cars were spotless. I like the shot with the lampshade in it. I thought I saw signs that it may have been occupied, but I'm not sure.
Will, Thanks. Mayne the passenger cars and engine are being used to move some of the CN management people from place to place. I also noticed the lamp in a window. I thought the way the windows changed height along the sides looked very cool.
Popps, I went back and looked at my Google search and there is a video of the IC #101 E9 pulling very similar passenger cars, but fewer, with all the windows the same height, with a CN GP38 at the tail end. I think #s 100,101,102 & 103 are still in service in a business train capacity. They are listed as the only IC engines still in service on a list I pulled up from the search. The list is headed 'Illinois Central Diesel Passenger Units' and shows the current disposition of all IC DPUs. Pretty cool find.
I was searching for reference pics of CN rd#8957 and found pics of a open house at CN.

some good shots and close ups inside a SD70M-2
I waited for a LONG container train headed up by at least 6, maybe 7 CN units of all types and paint schemes on my way home from work today. Awesome looking units, at least 4 different paint designs. I really like the one with all black and white stripes down the length of the body with the orange nose. My new office is right off this same line in an industrial area in Mundelein, Il. that has switching going on. I may see some oddball units rolling by. I already saw a GT in the light blue, red and white scheme the other day. CN has an office on the next street over, across the tracks. I'm starting to like this railroad more and more each day. There is a lot to like.
Will I think you must be near the Homewood CN shop and yards. If so you will see a lot of different items there.
Did you guys post or do you have a picture of a dash 9 CN anniversary model? I see one advertised in G scale. I can't find a real pic of it. The model is of road #2554.
Joe, I have about 20 pictures of 2554 and NONE have anything about a 25th Annv. on them. I did see a sticker on a model that some one had but I don't know if I have a picture. I will look.
Thanks Bill, maybe the road number (and even the model) is wrong? There's not many modern models in G scale.
