Its the month of Valentines, so let's do your favorite tinplate item.  I'm going to list two.  My newest (and the first modern cars I've ever purchased) are the 600 series Christmas cars offered in the last Tinplate catalog.

My second current favorite is a little red Lionel 248 engine that a friend of a friend just gave me.  Just needed a little rewiring and one new wheel and she runs like a top.

Nice RJ, another wondefull thread, you have always very nice ideas and... trains also.

 

My two favorites train sets are a french JEP golden arrow from 1938

And second love train another JEP set from 1935-36 with a typical PO (Paris Orléans) engine.

Here are a few of my current favorites and new acquisitions including a Voltamp 2222 loco and tender, the early "high cab" version from ca. 1909; a Howard Caboose from about 1910 with steel truck sides and cast iron wheels; a hand-painted Märklin RS 13031 electric loco from about 1930; and a late Voltamp Interurban from about 1920.
