Here is another wicked cool web site by a bunch of UK modelers. They have whacked it out of the ballpark. They model the CNJ in Mauch Chunk / Jim Thorpe PA. In order to get accurate photos to model by, they solicited folks that live there to send them photos from the period that they model.
This is an absolutely outstanding model railroad, and in the UK tradition, doesn't require a gymnasium to build it. There are a LOT of great design elements that would work well for an O scale railroad.

This site is loaded with prototype information, modeling how tos, and progress photos over the years. In my opinion, one of the premier modular railroads I've seen documented.
