Looks great Jeff, good job.
Bill
Great work Jeff!!!!!!
Alex
Thanks Bill and Alex!!!!
Yeah, the Williams cars are attractive and well-made, but that coupler! Does Bachman still supply that non-standard coupler height?
Thanks!!! Yes they do make nice cars. No the newer williams by bachmann cars has newer trucks haven't had any problems with the coupler height on them.
Well, you made a substantial improvement on the oldies, chessie.
Hello chessie1971...........
Good job you did on the Williams boxcar . I done the same on my Williams 4 bay hopper I got for 10 dollars and replaced with leftover MTH railking die-cast trucks and does look better too !!!

Thanks Tiffany!!!!
I have noticed at times that the older Williams GP-9's have the same problem with unlevel track, they uncouple because the coupler heigth is not correct. This problem occurs more with 027 track than with tubular O gauge.
Lee Fritz
Thanks Lee!!! Yeah i have a GP-38 and GP-9 made by williams before bachmann and couplers are ok on them.
Hello chessie1971....
I almost forgot to tell you that we bought the Williams NW-2 and it came on the 11th of March By UPS. It is a beautiful little engine and the couplers are like 1/8" inch higher on both ends when coupled to the freight cars but its ok. I was surprised how well it runs out of the box. I loved that little guy ! "The little black engine that could".

Great Tiffany glad you like it. I like my B&O NW-2 engine really well and i haven't noticed my couplers being 1/8 to high. I have a williams C&O gondola the couplers are 1/8 high on it but it varies for some cars they are just right. I like to see pictures of your engine and wish you could do video.
Hello chessie1971.........
here are the photos of my new NW-2 "the little black engine that could" and the pictures were taken by iPad. I put on the better nickel plated bell from a lionel 700e Hudson and mount it on the hood of the NW-2, it looks soooo much better than the black plastic bell that came with it. This engine is so far better than the lionel postwar #634 i had back in 1965. LOVE this little guy !!!!!! see the photos guys !!!!

Nice picture's of your engine. Thanks for posting them Tiffany and that gives me a good idea on the bell. I may do that to mine.
Hello chessie1971.........
The bell is the same kind that was used on lionel 726,736 engines, i think Jeff Kane would have them for under 10 dollars. I had to hand drill out the stud of the plastic bell as it was glued on. Just a little adjusting to the bell bracket and the bell will swing freely just make sure the screw head is file flat enough to clear the bell for swinging.

Nice job on the trucks buddy, I do believe I have a big Green Williams heavy weight baggage car that I need to do your truck swap idea on, if I can get the tripple Lionel trucks to work the same manner.
