One of my scale polar express passenger cars has a clicking sound that comes from the truck area. I think it may be car 6-25578 but at this point I am not certain (mixed up the boxes). I assume all the heavyweight trucks are the same.

I have looked at the wheels closely, flipped the car over and spun the wheels... I still cannot figure out what is clicking.

Anyone experience this? any suggestions?

Are you sure it's not clicking over a rail joint? That's common on many of my cars with pick up rollers.

Definitely something to test for. On my Amtrak Auto-Train video, some of the loudest noises coming from it are the pickup rollers on the Superliners clicking over the rail joints. The train becomes noticeably quieter once the autoracks on the rear are passing the camera.

Thank you for all the help!

I wedged the pickup roller up and the sound was gone! The roller didn't seem to make a sound when I spun it by hand. I ended up spreading the carrier slightly added a drop of CRC and placed it back on the the track. The clicking is gone!  I assume the roller was rubbing on the side of the carrier since the roller was oiled a few times already.

Very minor problem, but it was annoying to hear and think that I couldn't fix that it!

Thanks

Bill
