Trolley Talk about threee years ago had a series of articles by Tony Tieuli on installing a series of trucks from different manufacturers. Current Line has instructions that come with their trucks which are the most reasonable as far as cost is concered For me the hardest part is getting the headlight lenses out to get at the screws which hold the body on.Once you do this you can get at the Phillips screws behind the headlight opening. These hold the body on. If you don't mind having the motor stick up into the body the cheapest option is to use the Bowser Birney truck which can be found on E Bay
Bill or anyone on here: I just stumbled on the Corgi PCC and the trucks out there to power them (Bowser, GHB, PA Heritage Models, etc). Does anyone know if any of the power trucks are compatible with MTH 3 rail layout with DCS control? I just want to have the PCC go and stop via the handheld DCS. Anyone know? Thanks!
The Beetle drives work well, however they burn out after continuous use. I suspect heating is the problem. I burned up three sets. The advantage is that they permit the interior of the car to remain unmodified. For ocasional operation they are fine. The larger motors that project into the cab area are the must durable, however the wheelsets are not scale.
