Cows for the Lionel 9224 Churchill Downs Horse Car Set

Trainz.com has the complete cows with pads.

 

 

Thanks, I'll order some tomorrow. Do you know if horses ever came with anything but the plastic fingers on the bottom? Grandkids Don't get the humor of cows going to Churchill downs!

The cows with the "felt" bottoms were a one-shot deal, only appearing with the 6-19800 Circle L Ranch Stock Car of 1988.

 

As far as I know, horses only had the fingers.

Most American Flyer parts dealers sell replacement felt as that is what Flyer used.  Shave off the fingers, cut and paste on the felt.  And UR right, it works much better than the rubber fingers.

Thanks guys  for the good information- just sent an email to traindoctor and will check with hennings to see if the have the felt alone.  These both seem to have a lot of AF parts.  If not I will get a few cows from trainz - they appear to be complete as PaperTRW noted  (I will try to get the pads moved over to the horses).

Here are the applicable part numbers. They used to pop-up from time-to-time, but I haven't seen 'em in years.
