CP fans - anyone explain the origin of this symbol seen Sunday in Buffalo, NY at the CSX Frontier Yard on this CP AC 4400 engine ?

I believe it used to be a Canadian and American flag. Not positive, as I could not find an example to verify.

More verification of earlier post:
It's a variation of the CP "twin flags" logo. (Another version has a flag that's half the US and half the Canadian flag.) It came about in the 1990's, when, after NAFTA, CP was able to consolidate it's US railroad holdings (like the Soo Line) into CP proper. IIRC CP said it "symbolized one railroad now serving two great countries" or something similar.
