I heard a rumor from a Florida rail group that Winston yard is most likely closing this year and most of the jobs will be sent to other yards located in Orlando and Tampa. It seems like CSX streamlining its Florida operations. I wonder what else they will close or sell off? I wondering what they will do with the A Line from Orlando to Jacksonville since they send very few freight trains on currently. The other line I am wondering if they will keep is from Alachua to Newberry since they do not send coal to Crystal River anymore for the power plant. Will Norfolk Southern buy any of these under utilized routes to get a foothold in Florida?
