I think you may be a bit confused, as the Legacy, and even the vision Line, steam locomotive models are ALL die cast. Will they make more? Of course both Lionel and MTH will continue to offer die cast steam locomotive models. Only Sunset/3rd Rail and Weaver offer 3-Rail steam locomotive models hand made of brass.

I got this answer from someone at lionel service when I asked about the diecast es44s. Quote the diecast es44s hand rails are fragile and the hatch cover with the fan and rear lights made these engine a pain for us.. I highly doubt we will Remake these again. But I assure you the evo will be remade in plastic.
