Dielectric Grease & DCS | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have an Atlas turn table which uses 2 metal bullets to carry current between the stationary base, and rotating platform. When the unit is disassembled for cleaning, the contacts fall out of their sleeveattached to the underside of the rotating table. A friend recommended dielectric grease to hold the contact bullets in place while the roataing tabel is being repositioned. Does anyone know if the dielectric grease would cause a problem with the DCS system

It should have no effect.

If AC power can flow, the signal can ride it.

The thing to avoid is a coil, sometimes called a choke.

I was figuring to put just a dab on one side, just enough to hold it in place.

Unless I am thinking of something else,dielectric grease conducts heat but not electricity. Dont think you want it on contact points.

"Dielectric" means it doesn't carry electricity.
