Ladies & Gentlemen,

For the last 4 days we here at the Pine Creek Rail Road have been busy taking down the Christmas layout, shortly we will be back up at the Log Cabin in Potter/Tioga getting ready for instructing Fly Fishing & the early Grouse Dog Training season, which each year limits my ability to participate here on the OGR severely, I will however make a consolidated effort to

try to make time to still participate each day at least for a short time, now that I am starting to cut back my work hours in the woods and on the streams, unfortunately I am not 25 years old any more, and my body can only handle so much.  As usual I have had a great time talking with the OGR members here on the forum this year, especially while the Christmas Trains were up and running.  In the next few days everything will be completely stored away until Thanksgiving time, when I plan to rebuild again.  Remember all Active Military Personnel & Military Veterans are welcome to visit our Log Cabin Training Facility in Potter/Tioga when they can, so if you have these brave people in your family or friendship ring, please let them know.

God Speed

PCRR/Dave

Taking the last spin till Thanksgiving time.

Glad to read that you plan to rebuild.  I just could not muster the enthusiasm to put the layout I built for 2013 back up for 2014.  Maybe this year will be different.

At the very least, you have had a good run with your 2014 Christmas layout. While you are at the cabin, it will give you plenty of time to plan for your 2015 version. The good news about building a new one each year is they just keep getting better with new ideas.

Just stay in touch with your Forum buddies.

Right with You Dave.

I packed away all of the tubular track and accessories from our Postwar Holiday layout.

This was the last year for the two foam table sections so I stripped all of the wiring out of the underside along with the tunnel portals and have been breaking up the sheet foam into small pieces.

Next year, we'll start a new one or maybe just run Fastrack right on the floor.

Mike

DAVE,

Hope you catch some big trout up there.  I graduated from Mansfield State College back in the 70's.  Fish Pine Creek a lot just above Ansonia.  Great fly fishing!  We use to wait for the afternoon hatch to emerge at about 230-400PM, March Browns.  Had a blast catching nice brownies, nothing to get 20-30 fish in an afternoon.  All catch and release.  Those were the days, wonder if it is still like that?  Getting ready for our opener down here in SC Pa, on April 4th.  I'm ready to dip a line.  Enjoy your time up there.

Laz1957,

Great stuff sir, you were right down from my Log Cabin fishing upper Pine Creek, in the Ansonia area back at that time.  Just come up Rt 6 to the big concrete bridge across from the Log Cabin Restaurant, go across the bridge, make a right onto Lick Run, make the 1st left on to Powder Horn Lane, my Log Cabin is at the end of Powder Horn Lane up against SGL 208.  You are welcome to come wet a line with us any time.

Thank you DAVE for the invite.  I have an Alumni Football GOLF outing sometime this summer.  If time permits, I'll try and stop by and see your place.  Or if I get up there in Trout Season.  Love that area that was the main reason I went to school there.  Hunting, fishing, football and being outdoors.  "It doesn't get any better then that."  Hope you catch em all.

PCR;

I understand if you need the space for visiting Fishermen.

I got tired of the torn up buffalo snow (I used Quilt batting this time, much better) and took that all down in Late Jan / Early Feb. I replaced it and expanded onto a shelving unit to get 8 X 6 with a passing siding down the entire back side.

Now it's on Green Felt, makes a good sound barrier and is easy to clean.

I guess I'm lucky to have the room in my Den now plus I'm starting a Modular setup in the second floor of the Barn. That is going to grow to 16' X 40' and perhaps I can launch a Modular Club in the area.

Enjoy the Summer Fishing.
