Yes.
Donner has gotten 11" of snow in the last two days. The current snow depth is 170". Since January 2 they have gotten 150" of snow. Hope this helps. That's what the forum is for. Matt
Wow!!
Amazing video.
Thanks so much for posting.
A friend recently rode Amtrak at the Donner Pass.
We will be planning a trip soon.
I think the webcam will be addictive!
Thanks Edward, that is a lot of snow.

Who is the "Edward" you are referring to?
Also, you can ask Google for "Donner Pass Snow" and get hourly updates on snow depth in the whole area. Remember, it is a REALLY big skying area.

Big skying area ??
Is there a lot of traffic over the Pass? Roughly how many trains a day? Single track ?

Thought that was Montana.
When I Google "big sky" this is what came up.
OK, the Donner Pass area is a big snow ski area! Stupid auto spelling check.
Google doe give excellent up-dates on snow depth, temperature, humidity, and other weather data and forecasts.
I hate you auto correct... you are my worst enema!
Just happened to log on to the web-cam in time to see what appeared to be a Jordan Spreader roll thru town. I say "appeared" because there is so much stuff on the lens it is difficult to see clearly. The traffic looks like the proverbial Chinese fire drill.
Latest information; UP is operating the rotary snow plows (one on each end of the consist) eastbound out of Roseville, CA, RIGHT NOW.
Good morning Hot Water, wow this will be interesting.
Really March and April can still put down a lot of snow.
We have a customer with a talc mine just out of Carson City NV and they have been pumping water for the first time in 15 years.
Was 74F in Virginia. Then a cold front rolled in from California and temps dropped to 53F. I expect we'll get their snow next week.
I found a video of some of this year's rotary snow removal.
I always liked this video...older but great sounds. Can't see much but they're in the middle of a blizzard.
Jump ahead to around 3:20 in.
Well so far nobody has called to see if they can use ours! Russ
