Early Maine Central Piggyback

This grainy photo from the January 1959 Maine Central employee magazine (B&M Historical Society) shows a TOFC car, MEC 402. The article says three gondolas were converted for this service. Does anyone have any other info on these cars or know of a better photo? Thanks.
