YES!
J Daddy... I miss my steam already. But looking forward to those large UP locomotive consist's. That sure is a lot of Kadees.
Joe... I knew you would like this, Amtrak and UP on the way !!
I'am ready !!! time for some loonnngggg trains....
Keep one or two steamers on the layout for "excursions"!
Very nice Clem. I'm with Brian- let's see some serious stuff now

It would have taken a few decades for me to catch on though! (that you alternate)
The end of steam? Say it isn't so! I just bought another steamer and eight matching passenger cars, did I make a mistake?
I really like this idea of changing eras on your layouts. Do make other changes aside from just locomotives and cars?
Yes some industries get changed and of course the vehicles

Well, I certainly hope I get at least one good run before steam is gone!
Great video. No chuffing or constant whistle blowing. So peaceful.
Are you nuts. Stay on the dark side
Good luck, Clem
I change eras .... locales, too .... on my small layouts. Keeps it fun for me.
I operate a heritage railway that will gladly accept the donation of old steam engines. Contact info is in my profile.
Nice video, great layout. Do you happen to have a layout track diagram you can post? Gonna watch it again.
Hi Clem,
Quick question, does your layout have a layer of homasote? Trains run so quietly. I used vynl roadbed but haven't yet removed screws yet. I do as I finish ballasting. I have not added a skirt yet either so my noise level is still fairly high.
thanks, Gerry
Hi Gerry ........ Under track only: 1/2" plywood,1/2" Homasote. Blue Styrofoam under scenery. Bench work framing 2x4 and 1x4. Plywood shelf half way down on straight sections, no shelf under curves. The shelfs are loaded with a lot of stuff, Tools, hardware, trains, empty boxes, nails, screws, spools of wire, magazines, pretty much a lot of weight. Side curtains fabric painters drop cloth and black landscape fabric. And most important 90% of rolling stock runs on Weaver Delrin trucks and Delrin wheels. I find the third rail pickup rollers contribute most of noise for me. locomotive sound is adjusted so I can hear it when its near me but not on the other side of layout, 36' X 22'. Also it seems, fast angle wheels make a lot of noise compared to a flat wheel tread. 2 rail wheels (metal or plastic) are quieter also. So its probably a combination of everything. I still have nails in track.
Clem
Thats a fair size freight train that steamer pulling.Good I like seeing long mixed freight pulled by steam or diesel.

YUCK. Really? Don't you have crud and dirt build up problems?
I had just a few O scale cars (and previously most in HO) with those and I dumped them. I guess, maybe for the price and deal you got it's worth it??
Clem,
Nice video, layout and trainroom...thanks!
Hey Joe did I get your attention My wheels stay clean ! Heck nothing sticks to Delrin, not even paint. Now my old Atlas Pola cars with plastic wheels, thats another story, don't roll real good and they get dirty. but good looking trucks and you can paint them. Weaver wheels and trucks also roll really good.

P.S. can you do another video? The first one didn't last long enough! Love the double-headed steam!
great video Clem !!!
Great videos Clem! I like your track plan too.
Beautiful, Clem!
Peter
Yes! Yes Yes
Sorry about all the moving of the camera phone.
I wonder how many Amtrak I can run at one time, I don't think four 180 bricks is enough
Clem
I'll lend you some more then! (Just for the year of the diesels.)
