The Providence & Worcester RR distinguished themselves last night by shoving a cut of ethanol tankers through the end of track barrier and onto Allens Ave in Providence.
The rear tank car went between two telephone poles and stayed upright and intact coming to a stop on the street.
This could have been a huge disaster with an ethanol train landing on the street across from the tank farm for the processing plant.
I don't know if someone wasn't protecting the shove or if there was a equipment malfunction. Allens Ave is closed today for off-loading the ethanol then getting the tank car off the street and back on the tracks.
