All:

The TMCC Command Base has a "wall-wart" type power supply attached to a length of cord with a barrel end.

Has anyone ever extended the length of the cord (so that it can plug directly into a wall socket)?  Mine is too short and I'm thinking of just splicing in a length of zipcord.

Thoughts?  Concerns?  Warnings?

Thanks!

It's been awhile since I've seen a discussion of this.  I could be wrong, but don't cut the cord. There is a ground prong and connection on the wall wart that extends via the cord to the Command base.  I believe it's important for the signal.   A small (3 wire) extension cord from the outlet to the wall wart would be in order.

The wall wart can be plugged into a 3-wire extension cord which in turn is plugged into the wall outlet.  There are two things to keep in mind: use the shortest extension cord that will work and don't coil the excess cord.  If there is extra, zig-zag it on the floor rather than coiling it.
