Face Time, Trains and Grandkids

We can have ours present often and do. But, we still Facetime nearly everyday. can't get enough of the littles. The grandson, now 3, always wants to see the Cranky (the Crane) on the layout to check that Thomas, Cranky and the Polar Express are in good order.

As his attention span has grown, his train running episodes last longer and longer and at least 2 sessions per visit.

I wasn't an Apple guy, but FaceTime is so easy, we had to get an iPad. They don't know how to converse on a phone(voice) call, they need a video call!

So this is what Facetime is for. We got an Ipod for Christmas last year and I really haven't been too enthused about learning the apple apps. We'll have to check it out for the Ma's Great Grandkids this Christmas.

As we all get older this may be the only way we get to see each others

layout in the future....

I can see your grandson now. " Hey Papa, your train looks just like the 

one on the Ipad !!!"

Matthew: Don't  you mean an iPad??  They are great to use for Face Time because of the larger screen.  

This is a rally cool way to get your Grandson interested in trains from a distance. Too late for me, my only Grandchild is being married next week. But wait, maybe in the future there will be a Great Grandson.

One of the main reason I bought an iPad, was to be able to Face Time with my daughter and (2) grand kids who live in Denver, they always ask to see grandpa's trains run!

Congratulations, Brian!  Yes, maybe another 'railroader' coming.

FaceTime is a great app - both for trains with the grandkids, as well as just staying in touch.  We just returned from a week long road trip and wife would FaceTime with them as we were rolling down the highway (helps that her Audi Q7 has an internet connection).

Thanks Hoppy. She is a really sweet girl and we are looking forward to the wedding.
