For those of you using Lionel's Fastrack on a permanent layout, how do you route the wire under the table. I cannot figure a way to do it without cutting the wire and splicing it back together again.
Any good options?
Thanks for the help,
Don

I have drilled a hole with a 2 1/2 inch hole saw in the plywood and the switch controller fits right through the hole. LOCOMOTION
It's very easy to remove the bottom plate and loosen the four color coded wires. I used a sharpie to mark the wire locations. No reason to drill a big hole. I also used remote power for each switch. Just remove the jumper and add two more wires.
Yes to the above!
I simply remove the four small screw on the bottom of the controller, then loosen the very small screws that hold the wire in. Then route the wire from the switch thru a small hole in the table, and to the control panel.
I often extend the wires before reattaching to the controller, for those switches far away from the control panel.
I rewire all the switches with a four foot long 4 conductor wire. Then I connect that to a terminal strip under the table where ever the switch is located.
Then another 4 conductor takes it to the SC-2s and another terminal strip. From there under the control area, I connect the controller wires.
I get total flexibility this way and have a central place to use the new Lionel LCS switch monitoring module...when it comes out.
Thanks guys for all the great ideas. With eight switches to do, I am not sure which approach to take but now I have options.
Thanks again,
Don
I did 15, all remote powered.
Don,
If you are at York next week stop by and I'll show you some options you might like

Don,
Invest in the new Command Control FT Switches, and use the manual controller with lighted number track side, to identify each switch number at a glance, all my FTCC switches are set up in this manner now, works like a charm. IMO the low voltage, wireless FTCC Lionel switches are top shelf engineering.
