It's rare for me to catch a FEC train. Even rarer for me to be in a convenient spot to take a picture. I took this with my iPhone, looking out my passenger door window.

Florida East Coast has a vast array of engine colors! I think they buy their engines from other railroads, and then change the name on the engine! My own favorite though was when they used the red and yellow paint scheme, many years ago.
Florida East Coast is an interesting Railroad. Did you know at one time Henry Flagler, who built the Florida East Coast, had a plan for the Railroad to go 90 miles across the water from Key West to Havana?
FEC standard colors used to be blue dip with white lettering, or blue dip with yellow.
When they bought the ex UP SD40-2's, all they changed was the logos and numbers. The SD70's were originally blue & yellow, Then RailAmerica bought the company and painted several SD70's in the scheme seen on 105. Then about 2 years ago, RailAmerica resold the FEC back to the former owners. One SD70 is painted in the original red/yellow/silver scheme used first used on the FEC's first road diesels(E3's) & E8's---
FEC also has GP40 #2000 painted in the old red/yellow/silver colors, and ex-UP SD40-2 #714 in that scheme. Didn't know they'd done an SD70 as well, though that scheme would look great on a wide-nose IMO.
Nice photo Flash
These are not high end trains, But I do like FEC. My Dad spent several years on that line.

Here is one if the ex-UP SD40's painted in the classic red yellow scheme
This is one of my favorite model trains. MTH model, but I don't believe Florida East Coast had any Vista Dome cars though. I have a lot of Florida East Coast trains. Have a lot of Florida stuff in general. Working on layout, and one day hope to have scenery, etc!
