Hello!

A week or so ago I asked if to floodlight towers could be put in the same accessory input on my AIU and Barry said yes. I just started actually wiring them and I just want to make sure I do it right. It looks to me from the AIU instructions that I run a red ( hot )wire from the transformer to the red connection on the first tower, then run a wire from the black connector of the first tower to the red connector of the second tower, then run a wire from the black connector of the second tower to the AIU. Basically connecting  them in series. The black ( ground )wire goes from the transformer directly to the AIU. Please let me know if this is correct.

Thanks,

Don,

That would be unwise.

It would be like old-fashioned Christmas lights. If any bulb burns out, all of the lights would go out and you'd have no idea as to which bulb needs to be replaced.

You should wire the towers in parallel:

  • Connect all of the Hot wires together and connect them to AIU ACC port terminal 1
  • Connect AIU ACC port terminal IN to accessory power Hot
  • Connect all of the Common wires from the towers together and then connect them to accessory power Common.
