I just wonder if listed posts can be made to appear in calendar order, say latest back, when doing a subject search.?

Click on search, then advance search. Enter your search terms. Click on the Date "between" and from the drop down box choose "Before". Then enter todays date.
Then click "order by..... date"
This will return the results in descending order from today, back.
