That would be a perfect application for snot. Light engine, no magnetraction, and no traction tires. Thin application on a set of drivers will help. But remember that engine is what it is, it's not meant to pull a big heavy train. Also make sure your cars roll freely. A LITTLE lube goes a long way.

I just bought a jar and tried it for the first time on my Williams K4. So far so good, and will try it on my Williams Niagara next. I'd prefer to use real tires, but I've looked all over and haven't been able to find any tires that fit older Williams locos. For situations like this when the tires you need appear to be out of production, IMO this is a good alternative.

I use it on Post War engines w/o magnetraction. For the Williams Niagara, Lionel Niagara tires will work.

And where exactly would one find this magical frog snot?

Walthers....and the dealers they serve.  In fact, as of today's Walthers listings, it's on sale!!

BTW...You won't want to put it on all the drivers.  The drivers are, of course, electrical pick-ups from the outer rails.  The 'snot' works best on drivers that have a traction tire groove already cut into the tread.  However, for those engines/drivers lacking the groove, a thin coating on one driver may be of help.

And, be sure to clean your track and engine drive wheels periodically.  Gunky dirt can be slippery enough in itself to affect traction.

But that's just MHO, of course....
