@Sitka - Wow TWO Wabash F-3's and I can't tell which is which but both are handsome.  So I guess I will follow suit at least in part with my Lionel Wabash F-3.   Here are some engines on the Leonardtown and Savannah, at the wharf yard getting ready to move out and handle their daily assignments.

Those international freight loads that arrive on the ships coming up the Savannah River need many RR to move the shipping out towards its destination.  We have a Kline UP MP-15, a Lionel 2344-2344C A-B-A NYC F-3, and a Wabash 2367 AB getting ready for work.  At the far left is a Chinese tin toy interurban bringing workers to their jobs and in the middle some miscellaneous 6464 box cars awaiting pickup, The Marx crane in the background helps with unloading and the Marx observation tower helps with security and safety.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, it is supposed to be HOT and sunny here in central Texas.

Best Wishes

I thought I'd show a little Lionel history this FEF:

20230601_18494220230420_022750

On the left is Lionel's first ever "take" on the PRR S2 turbine, the 1946 671. It features the 671W whistling tender, "smoke bulb" smoke chamber, and the venerable "dual worm drive." On the right is their last cataloged version of this loco, the 1984-85 MPC 6-8404. It uses the same boiler casting as the 671 (in fact, "PART NO. 671-3" is cast into the underside) and features an electronic version of the 2671W tender (with odd-sounding steam and whistle electronics) and "back up" lights, a heating element smoke chamber, and standard single-worm drive. It is essentially a reissue of 1954-55's 682 with electronics and prototypical paint including "6200" road number. These two locomotives represent a time span of almost 40 years, during which Lionel produced thousands of examples.

I messed up both my hands in a fall, so no new pics for a while.

Here are pics from a few years ago of my Lionel Freedom Train PA1 and Lionel Centipede pulling the Friendship Train next to each other sort of like the real ones were at Harrisburg, PA, in November 1947.

Ron,

Best wishes for a quick recovery. Would like to see more Pennsy pictures...

MELGAR

Well here is a scene similar to others at places like Harmon, NY or New Haven, Ct where diesel takes over from electric or visa versa.  This is completely imaginary but I thought it sort of resembled that kind of situation.  Here on the L&S, the electric engine is a reproduction of a  French Hornby type 0-PO locomotive, if original this would have been from 1952 however, this is a "Hatchette" reproduction, dating from the 1990's.  Its clockwork and works very well.  The diesel about to take over the train (or maybe give it up) is of course the well known  " Beep" in PRR colors.

Well best wishes to everyone.  Happy F.E.F. and hope you have a great weekend.
