Out in front today is #901 an ALCO C630. It typically runs backwards but today it's the lead dog! Happy Friday the 13th!
Cheers, Dave
Well F.E.F. fans, here is a Type M1 engine / tender for you today. This little train actually is the M1 "Goods Train" set offered between 1947 and 1957 but his train (dated due to frame changes on the rolling stock in 1949) dates from the earlier period this is between 1947 and 1949. Clockwork as most Hornby is but a very capable little gal, she handles her little train easily around my mostly flat layout. The M1 trains have the distinction in the Hornby line as being the first trains back on the market after WWII.
Happy Friday, hope your weekend works out well for you. Best Wishes

That’s right coach! And on the other end, it stopped on Wall Street, my other favorite stop.
Have a fine FeF all!

@c.sam. Nice photo of those Southern engines. You don't see many models in the original 1940s passenger green scheme.
A Pre-War Lionel 225E from 38-42 along with a PW 2026 from 51-53 have a good weekend
Happy F.E.F. everyone...this is a late Lionel classic , the Lionel #241 Scout locomotive with the #234 tender from 1965 (uncatalogued).
Here she is stopped at the depot awaiting release from the dual Hornby semaphore signal.
Happy Friday everyone, hope your weekend goes well

Happy FEF everyone!!!
Here are my only two MTH engines. Since I don’t do DCS, I bought them knowing that they would be Shelf Queens, but, since I actually rode both of them, they were must haves (how’s that for a new excuse to buy trains???). Now, if I could just find the Royal Hudson I road behind back in the early 90’s for a reasonable price!!!
Yes, time flies when your having fun, beautiful fronts everyone, @Steve papa Eastman, Steve, you kids are looking good standing in front of that huge cruise ship, awesome, @Apples55 , beautiful streamliners, and passenger diesels, Wow, @cpowellCpowell, that’s a gorgeous diesel, and being that I’m in Busan Korea, here’s some Korail front ends.. It’s actually Saturday here…. Happy Railroading Everyone
@leapinlarry - looks like you are having a great time...glad to see you enjoying your trip.
Best Wishes

"(how’s that for a new excuse to buy trains???)." You are truly the master! You don't even need voices any more.

Joe;
Although I have ascended to a higher plain, I still hear and revere the voices as trusted guides
Oh, and before I forget, I have been dealing with some issues the last few weeks, but I did take note of your comment on the MPC F3’s thread - “Paul since I was persuaded to buy a 785 Hudson and now I may be on the hunt for a 8370 I should have just the top shelf from you”. In the words of an old colleague, “I think NOT”!!!
Have a good start of your FeF
Well friends, here it is F.E.F. already... @Sitka I can make out both a "satellite"? launching car and a USAF Minute Man launching car. I have the Marx version of the missile car but little else in the space area. Oh yea, believe it or not, when I reported to Wright Patterson AFB in 1969, they actually had the actual railroad car that was supposed to launch the missile on base, sitting on a siding. It was a prototype as the AF never fully deployed the system. I got a chance to look at it and then I believe they took it to the AF museum as part of the exhibit. @RJSB - OK I agree SW's can have two fronts, neat picture @Rob Leese - Those F' units look great, what is the RR for the one on the far left? @Strap Hanger - Your subway scenes are really top notch, thanks for posting @trumptrain- Patrick, great photos for sure. Is the engine a Hudson?
OK well what about my posting today. If you track "Tinplate Photos" you know that I just acquired a JEP tinplate lithographed steamer delivered this week. So I saved the picture of its "front end" for today. Its clockwork and likely dates to the 1950's or so although I have no specific information on it (anyone with more knowledge please post what you know --thanks)
Here is a front quarter view to show off more of its lithography.
Best wishes everyone...hope your weekend goes well

Union Railroad SW1 #475 is an MTH Railking model (30-20789-1) delivered in 2021 with PS3. It runs very smoothly at low speeds and has the realistic sounds of an EMD 567 diesel engine. The video, on the west side of my 10'-by-5' layout, is the best front end view I can record. I would like to see MTH offer SW1s again but I think they sold the tooling...

Oh yeah, it's Front End Friday with a bunch of great photos today! Thanks to all the great posts!
Here's a few of my own taken on the Paradise layout on a cool and cloudy fall day in the SF Bay Area.
SP SW8 #1102 pulling some freight from industry to siding for pickup with UP Big Boy #4006 lurking in the background.
Big Boy #4006 waiting to roll into the trackside service yard.
UP #4006 just after service waiting for track orders. This time SP #1102 is lurking in the background.
Happy Friday and wishing you all a great weekend!
Happy Front End Friday everyone! This week on the layout, I'm running some of the custom Rock Island front ends that I built last year. Here is my EMD TA Rocket set.
Here is my Rocket AB6 in its obscenely complicated pinstripe livery.
Last but not least, here's the video of everything running on my layout!
