Hi Randy, Each one of those photographs is historically very interesting and informative, so it is very considerate of you to search them out and post them here.
Speaking for myself, Thanks!

Here are some Western Maryland favorites. I took the WM #734 & the black #501 photos back in 2009.
The red/white/black #501 diesel was taken in 2017.

Deal, Pa in 1998.
Sorry for the poor pic quality. I took it with a Kodak "1.0 megapixel" newfangled digital camera. To Dad's right is the foundation for the East end signal for Deal Tower/station. In the background left is the foundation for the West end signal at Deal. The station/tower was where that brush on the left is now. Deal was the actual summit. Savage Tunnel was uphill the whole way from East to West.

Good afternoon, stopped at Cresson PA the other day and took these photo's of some NS power.
The second photo although is a front end shot is actually the helpers on the back of the east bound train heading down the mountain to Altoona.
Happy Frontend Friday !!!!
Pennsy Geeps on The Hill!
Looks like close to the top with the Gallitzin tunnels behind the photographer. Dad&I made more than a few trips to Horseshoe Curve country when I was a kid.
Happy FEF!
