Getting Started in DCC

I have always had conventional trains - mostly O gauge and a little HO. I have a good sized layout in my basement, but no experience with DCC. Could someone please inform me of the basic equipment I need to buy, and what I might expect to spend on that? I would really appreciate it.

Hi, Are you running 2 rail DC or one of the three rail systems? I am in the process of switching the rest of my 2 rail dc engines over.

I have a 3 rail layout. Just conventional setup. I have about 150 feet of track powered by a Lionel CW-80.
