I seen a picture of the PRR GG1 in Harrisburg coming out of the station and I guess there to wrap it up in shrink wrap. Here's a link to the website http://www.trainorders.com/dis...n/read.php?2,3372968 The question I have is, does this mean that maybe there going to start working on making this GG1 run again or some other GG1 in the future?

I doubt they're going to make it operational. I believe that the shrink wrapping is to protect it for the next three years while the station is being renovated.

Golly, I'd love to see a Gee running again, but the cost of a complete rebuild at this point would have to be staggering. A fair amount of new engineering would be required in addition to everything else, just to make her "legal".
Yep, aside from the running gear, ALL the electrics would need to be replaced. One of the reasons the GG1's got sidelined was the transformers-- the coolant oil was full of PCB's(very toxic chemical).Another was age---they just got too be too old & worn out. I imagine one could be rebuilt-- but that would take somebody's $50 million lotto winnings.
The only project I can think of that would clearly outstrip the cost cost of a complete GG1 redux would be doing the same thing on UP #18 at IRM !
