I hope u can post some pix or a video when u have time. ๐
Just got mine. These cars are gorgeous and will look amazing with 3rd Rail B & O motive power of your choice. The 1940s-1950s B & O blue / gray / black livery is one of my favorites. I'll probably stick a GGD Santa Fe 4-4-2 or 10-6 sleeper on as well just for fun, though by 1957 transcontinental service on the Cap Limited was pretty much done I believe. I'll post a few pics when I have time.
Cheers ๐

Very pretty! Mine should be here I an hour or two
These cars are so nice. If I didn't have so many GGD cars and too many railroads I already model, I would have ordered a set. That dome car with the roof mounted lights is something I'm really looking forward to seeing operate. I was tempted to order one just for that feature alone and put it in an excursion set. Beautiful cars and props to @TrainBub for the assistance he provided Scott in making this set an accurate and complete one! I think Bob Heil is smiling in train heaven over how this one came out. It's been a long time coming.
On a side note, it's ironic that the GGD Capitol limited arrived less than a month after the current 1:1 version of that train had its name retired temporarily if not permanently with the new Floridian. Nice to see the pride of the B&O live on in model form.

WOW!!!!!!!
Itโs unbelievably beautiful! I also got out the columbian cars & ran the combined train. I tried to upload a video of that too but the system wonโt let me.
Fun fact. The observation car was purchased by the Long Island Railroad & was not repainted right away. There are pictures of it on various parlor car trains including the Greenport scoot.

Yep I'll be doing the same. Slumbercoaches work too of course, as will the upcoming B & O 14-4s thru cars for the Tex Special / Frisco Meteor and even 12-1 and 8-1-2 heavyweight sleepers. I also have an ATSF Palm series ACF 10-6 I pulled from the GGD 1951-1953 Super Chief set -- "foreign" thru cars apparently were coupled right after the combine, before any of the other sleepers. It's a beautiful kitchen sink of a train.
โItโs a beautiful kitchen sink of a trainโ. BlueFeather I really Agree. An Eclectic consist for sure. My do-it-yourself Nat. Ltd also has this appearance.

hereโs the combined train, with 1 slumbercoach, 2 coaches & the dome coach. Beautiful!
whatโs the correct national limited consist? I have a GGD B&O heavyweight diner plus the entire columbian set & a 14 car MoPac Eagle set, so ai know I have most of the consist.

I try to get it reasonable close โฆ.. I add in a GGD REA express Reefer, combine car from Cincinnatian set, Columbian Coach, heavyweight RPO, baggage, coach and sleeper, slumber coach (either MP OR B&O but not both), new 16-4, and MP 5 BR-Lounge as the observation car (really - was leased from MP / have pic with Nat. Drumhead in MP paint), MP 14-4 or 10-6 thru sleeper. Will add MKT or Frisco 14-4 thru sleeper, B&O 10-6 sleepers offered with Tx. Special / Meteor.
Lots to work with !!! Fun building a consist !!!
Not perfect but works well with my 3rd Rail EA, EB.
Cheers ๐
The new Strata-Domes are great, but that Pullman smooth-sided dome from the Columbian remains one of my all-time favorites. Running both versions on the same train is super cool.
Prototype note: while multiple examples of the later Budd (ex-Chessie) Strata-Domes still exist in real life, sadly both instances of the original Pullman version are gone.

Cool! Good info, So I could build my consist with
harpers ferry baggage/ dorm-lounge, some Columbian coaches & possibly the dome coach. My MoPac slumbercoach, a B&O heavyweight diner, some sleepers & the MoPac Eagle 5 BR-lounge as the last car. Cool! Iโll do that & film it

Sounds Great !!! Have some fun !!!
In real operation the red light would only be on when the train was stopped or at a lower speed. Otherwise only the two side rear marker lights would be the only red lights on.
